Advertising agency, Partners Andrew Aldridge got in touch with our agent Jelly to create a realistic 3D Chameleon. We developed the character as a high resolution sculpt in Autodesk’s Mudbox, normal-mapped it down to an animation-friendly model and hooked it up to a custom-built creature rig within 3Ds Max. We used the high-end rendering power of V-Ray to bring out the detail and realism of the model. Apologies for not posting in a while… WAP has been a hive of activity over the past month – can’t say too much yet, but more news and previews will follow shortly.
In the meantime, we are pleased to introduce you to our new PseudoTrooper: Mr Kemp. As a long time WAP friend and collaborator, we are excited to finally be able to shout about Mr Kemp’s fantastic illustration work right here on our website.
Here’s a little further info on the knitwear-obsessed artist:
David Kemp (otherwise known as ‘Mr Kemp’ to his friends) is a Portsmouth-based Illustrator who produces hand-drawn and digitally coloured artwork in a bright and friendly ‘children’s book’ style.
He studied Animation at The Bournemouth & Poole College of Art and Design where he made three short films, all of which were well received at festivals and screenings around the world. This led to working in Devon as a Storyboard and Layout Artist on various animated TV series for kids – including ‘Wolves, Witches and Giants’ narrated by Spike Milligan.
Since returning to Portsmouth he has concentrated mainly on his own illustration work. To date he has produced all manner of posters, leaflets, illustrations for websites and exhibition catalogues plus both packs of the ‘Challenge Me! Activity Cards’ for Jessica Kingsley Publishers.
Oh, and he recently won our WAP tshirt competition… Tees available soon!

Exciting times… Pseudonym are gathering together a rosta of super fresh talent to further diversify our range of creative styles. In order to showcase their skills, we’ve put together a little promo competition (promotition) which we hope you’ll get involved with.
We invited six of our new artists: Chris Jevons, Lex Luthor, Sam Smith, Dave Kemp, Mimic, and Stuart Linfield, to each come up with a tshirt design for you guys to vote on.
The three most popular designs will then be printed and put on sale in our online shop … coming soon! You can vote for your favorite on facebook by giving a ‘like’ to the one you … like. Or posting a comment on flickr.
Oh yes, and five lucky voters will be randomly selected to win a printed tee of their choice!
